iPhone fruit juice appThis article was originally published in Foodnews
FRUIT juice industry players may be interested in a new application for the iPhone and iPod Touch, to allow swift calculation and conversion of fruit juice weights and prices. Neil Murray writes: Brix Premier (now in use at FOODNEWS!) incorporates all the major fruit and berry juices, purées and concentrates, from açaí to watermelon. It automatically makes several simultaneous brix or cost calculations based on simple inputs, and then presents the multiple results at once, which dramatically reduces the unnecessary human errors. It provides two major functions, dilution calculation and cost calculation and also offers unit conversion to switch between US and metric views: pound solids, tonnes, litres, gallons and kilos, making calculation of (for example) US gallons or pound solids to tonnes very simple. Another feature is a harvest season map to help professionals or traders plan in advance for procurement of desired fruit types.
