Iceland exports less frozen fish to UK, but sales elsewhere soar

This article was originally published in Foodnews

ICELAND exported a total of 194 000 tonnes of fishery products in the first half of 2010, a decline of almost 4% compared with last year. There was a sharp drop in sales to the UK, but Lithuania considerably strengthened its position as the second biggest market in volume terms. Exports of fresh and chilled finfish and of fish fillets were significantly down on 2009, but this was largely offset by the increase in shipments of whole frozen fish.
