Turkish crops survive downpours but pesticide use will increase

HEAVY rain has hit sultana and raisin crops in Turkey, with particularly bad downpours in the big sultana growing regions last week. The crop size is not thought to have been affected, although sources are warning that farmers will be forced to use or increase the level of pesticides used on vineyards to save the crops.
