Pepsi confident of rapid growth in RussiaThis article was originally published in Foodnews
PEPSICO are confident that Russian sales will hit a double-digit growth in 2010 as it has seen a "clear improvement" in consumer demand compared with last year. The company is Russia's largest juice maker but last year its Russian sales rose only by a single-digit percentage rate, to USD2.0 billion. Demand was hit by Russia's deepest economic contraction in 15 years. But Ramon Laguarta, president of PepsiCo Central and Eastern Europe Region, told reporters: "We have seen the consumer slowly coming back to our products. We will enjoy a very good year. I think ... double digit growth in sales is most likely."
