Sardine output boost

VENEZUELAN state-run cannery, Conservas Alimenticias La Gaviota, has increased its daily production to 30 tonnes of sardines, according to a company official. Luisa Gomez, the Cumana-based plant's production manager, said it now produces between 600-700 boxes of canned sardines per day, which are distributed across the country via the network of public markets in several states across Venezuela. "Yes, we have increased production depending on the quantity of raw material that reaches the company," Gomez told Agencia Bolivariana de Noticias.
