PRODUCTION of forest fruits in Huelva, Spain has increased over the past few years and is becoming one of the country's most attractive crops for producers as consumption grows, according to growers' group FRESHUELVA. The province's main varieties are raspberry, blueberry and blackberry. In 2009, Spanish raspberry exports totalled some 13 335 tonnes (similar to 2008), followed by blueberry (6 096 tonnes; +100% from 2008) and blackberry (1 299 tonnes; +51%). The main destinations for Spanish raspberries are the UK, France, the Netherlands and Germany. Its blackberry crop is mainly shipped to Germany, the UK and Austria.
