SWEET cherry prospects for 2010 in the European producer countries are mixed. While in Turkey, the world's largest producer, the crop is seen similar to 2009, and expectations in Italy are high (or at least were until the arrival of storms over the Whitsun weekend), the start of the season in Spain is delayed and a 30% smaller harvest is likely. France is looking at a slight reduction in volume.
