A BILL to ban juice drinks and whole milk at licenced day care centres is moving through the California legislature, ABC reports. The proposal bans whole milk, limits 100% fruit juice to one serving a day and prohibits beverages with natural or artificial sweeteners. Another measure has already been approved by the State Senate - the sale of sugar-sweetened sports drinks in middle schools and high schools is to be prohibited. California already bans sports drinks in elementary schools and carbonated soft drinks were removed from all school vending machines in 2007.
