Sharp decline in Mexican orange juice output predicted this year

MEXICO is on course to produce 5.9 million tonnes of citrus fruits this year, according to Gonzalo Fernandez del Castillo of processor Grupo Altex. This represents a decline of 10% from 2009's harvest, and is 15% below the levels of 2008. Gonzalo Fernandez was presenting the data at the recent JPA conference in the US.
