This article was originally published in Foodnews

BA WANG International Holding Limited is venturing into the soft drinks market with Bawang Herbal Tea, based on a traditional, inherited recipe, writes Emma Slawinski. The household personal care and cosmetics (HPC) company, leader in the herbal shampoo market in China, announced it would market three variants of the drink - 'sugarless', 'sweet' and 'energetic' - aimed at different market segments. Martial arts film star, Donnie Yen, has been enlisted as brand ambassador for the drink and a series of advertising promotions are planned for TV, newspapers, magazines and internet. Chief executive and executive director, Wan Yuhua, said: "The healthy image of Mr. Yen is a perfect match with the core brand image and positioning of Bawang Herbal Tea. His widespread popularity will help promote the brand and quickly penetrate the market."
