ARGENTINA's Tucumán lemon crop is expected to be 25-30% smaller this year, compared with the 2009 crop, due to the region's dry summer in 2009. Between July and December last year, Tucumán was hit by frosts, temperatures of up to 50°C, wild fires and a slight water shortage caused by a lack of rain.
