SPANISH Burlat are dominating European sweet cherry markets at the moment, AMI reports. In Italy, the daily rainfall and sharp temperature fluctuations in Apulia have decimated the Bigarreau harvest. It now looks as though the Italian season will only really get started when the firm varieties arrive. In Turkey also, the cherry season has been hit by rain and seasonally low temperatures.
