BAHIA, Brazil's biggest cocoa region has seen a 37% increase in
arrivals compared to a week earlier, and analysts are forecasting
that this level may increase further still in the coming weeks.
In the week to 22 May, deliveries to shippers and processors were recorded at 61 774 bags, up from 44 977 bags the week earlier.
The region accounts for almost 80% of the country's cocoa output and a massive 95% of its grindings.
Total arrivals across Brazil were also up, recorded at 74 054 bags compared with 52 251 bags a week previous.
